  • Retail sales volumes fell by 0.9% month-to-month in March; the drop wasn’t entirely due to very wet weather.
  • Real disposable incomes will recover this year, but many people will prioritise rebuilding savings or repaying debt...
  • ...So we expect retail sales to be up only 1% year-over- year in Q4 and to take until 2024 to reach their 2019 level.
