  • Turmoil in U.S. banking is largely being driven by factors idiosyncratic to the American financial sector.
  • The EZ already had a crisis in its smaller banks, in 2008 and during the sovereign debt crisis.
  • Rising bond yields and deposit flights are less of a threat to banks in the EZ than in the U.S., for now.
