Melanie Debono
Senior Europe Economist
Melanie joined Pantheon in 2021 with nearly a decade's experience in independent economic research. She focuses on the Eurozone, with particular emphasis on Italy and Spain, and also covers Switzerland and SNB policy.
Prior to joining Pantheon, Mel was Europe Economist at Capital Economics, after internships with the European Commission and the European Parliament. She was ranked the most accurate forecaster of a number of European economies, including Greece and Portugal, in 2019 and 2020 by Focus Economics. Melanie holds a master's Degree from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan. She speaks Maltese, English and Italian.
