  • EZ money supply data continue to signal a severe squeeze on the private sector’s real money balances.
  • The PMIs indicate that the manufacturing downturn is easing, but we still think output fell in Q4.
  • Headline inflation is now falling rapidly in Spain, which we think is a leading indicator for the EZ.
