  • China’s headline consumer prices dropped year-over-year in July, due to falling food prices.
  • The consumer recovery is tepid and uneven, but this is far from Japan-style entrenched deflation.
  • Sharp producer price deflation moderated in July, but China should still export disinflation in H2.
