Andres Abadia joined Pantheon over 10 years ago, after serving as Head of Research and Chief Economist at Arcalia/Bancaja in Madrid, and as an Economist at Ahorro Corporación Financiera.

His research spans Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, emphasizing the interaction of monetary policy, fiscal dynamics, exchange rates, and political shocks. Andres is widely quoted in the international press for his non-consensus calls on central bank pivots and FX inflection points.

Andres earned a PhD in Applied Economics, together with a Master’s degree in Economics and International Business Administration from University Autonoma de Madrid, and a BSc in Economics from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
